Action is your chance to do your bit for the local (and in some cases, international) community through volunteering. There are two ways
in which you can do this.
Firstly, within Royce we have our very own Action Rep in the shape of Nathan John, whose responsibility it is to
organize, publicize and run Action events which take place in our hall. These usually happen on a Wednesday afternoon and previous activities
include litterpicking along the local canal, gardening (and drinking) with an elderly Loughborough resident (and absolute legend) by the name of Tony,
and giving our beloved statue Fred a fresh lick of paint. You also get a complimentary Wispa and can of Red Bull everytime you
take part in one of these events, which is never a bad thing.
Secondly, the LSU Action Office, headed up by Action Chair Hannah Beasley, runs several local and international projects that you can get involved in as a
project volunteer or project leader. Some of these include weekly visits to the elderly in a local care home, helping children in local schools by reading with them
or helping them with their maths, and sports mentoring to students at Burleigh College. Getting involved with any of these projects is great fun and hugely rewarding,
and looks good on your CV too - so do it!
