St. Paddy's Punch Party St. Fred's Day Freshers' Ball ...more St. Fred's Day!

Very soon after you arrive in Royce (in fact, probably within the first half hour of being here) you will discover that socials are a very big part of life in Royce. We have a reputation for being the hardest partying hall on campus, and with good reason!

Our social secs, Tom and Jade, organize lots of different socials for lots of different events across the year. So many, in fact, that it would be impossible to talk about all of them on this webpage. So here are a few highlights of the Royce social calendar each year:

• Balls: we have 3 balls per year - a formal Freshers' Ball to mark the end of your Freshers' Fortnight, a fancy dress ball at Christmas, and a formal Summer Ball at the end of May.
• St. Fred's Day: this is the first Bank Holiday Monday of May every year, and is a celebration of everything that is Royce. Named after our statue Fred, it involves a day off of lectures (Bank Holiday!), lots of punch, BBQs, bouncy castles and other attractions, all rolled into one big 24-hour party across Royce.
• St. Paddy's Day: we celebrate St. Patricks' Day the way the Irish intended it to be celebrated: with lots of green clothing and body paint, and even more alcohol!
